Register online or by phone at 919.821.287. Please note that we have limited staff in the building at this time (M-F, 9a-5p), so online registration is recommended. Paper registration forms can be mailed upon request. Artspace accepts cash (in person only), check, Mastercard, Visa, Discover, and American Express.

Everyone attending a virtual class is required to pay the registration fee. Each class will begin with a roll call of registered students. If a student in class is not on the roster, you will be contacted by Artspace to make payment.

Each summer, Artspace offers up to 60 full, financial need-based scholarships to Wake County students to participate in our Summer Art Camps. In light of the range of financial difficulties many families are facing due to the pandemic, Artspace will not restrict eligibility to only students who are on subsidized lunch programs for Summer 2021. We hope and trust that families who truly need assistance will apply. Families will have the choice to apply for a scholarship for either in person or virtual instruction. Scholarships are limited and awarded on a first-come, first served basis.

In Person Scholarship
In person scholarships will cover the cost of a half day or full day of camp for one week. Full day scholarship recipients will receive lunch every day free of charge from our lunch vendor sponsor (vegetarian options available).

Virtual Scholarship
Virtual scholarships cover the cost of one week long virtual class and the supply kit for that class.

Cancellations + Refunds

If Artspace cancels a class:

Artspace reserves the right to cancel a class at least 10 days prior to the start date if minimum enrollment is not met. If we cancel a class you will receive a full refund.

If you cancel enrollment:

30 or more days prior to the start date, you will receive a full refund of class cost. At least 15 calendar days prior to the start date, you will receive a 50% refund of class cost. No refund will be given for cancellations less than 15 calendar days before the start of any class.

*Credit card processing fees will not be refunded*

If the class you wish to register for is sold out, you may opt to join a waitlist. If a spot becomes available we will email all students on the waitlist at once and the first student to respond will receive the spot.

Pandemic related cancellations + Refunds

Artspace reserves the right to adjust classes in adherence with health and safety guidelines. Refunds and/or class credit will be provided if Artspace makes the decision to modify or cancel a class. All efforts will be made to maintain the current schedule of classes.

We expect you to pick up your child promptly. You will be required to show a driver’s license. You will sign your child out in the Artspace Lobby. There is a $5 late fee charge for each 5 minutes after the designated pick up time. Repeated instances of late pick up will result in dismissal from the program with no refund.

COVID-19 Safety Policies

The safety of our community is our number one priority. Artspace is a public organization with open hours, visitors will not be allowed to enter classroom spaces. Anyone entering our building will be required to follow the protocols outlined below. These measures may be revised to align with changes to local, state, and CDC guidelines.

Health + Safety Measures

  • Anyone entering the building will be asked to complete a health screening questionnaire.
    • *Artspace will no longer be administering temperature checks to enter the building following guidance from the state and CDC. Individuals should self monitor their own temperature and stay home if they suspect they may be infected or have been exposed to COVID-19.
  • Anyone entering the building will be required to wear a face covering.
  • Artspace Summer Art Camp staff, instructors, interns, volunteers, and students will engage in increased hand washing and use of hand sanitizer. Artspace has sinks for hand washing available in each classroom and hand sanitizer stations in each classroom and throughout the building.
  • In person class sizes have been reduced to a max of 10 students to accommodate a safe social distance in each classroom.
  • Artspace adheres to local, state, and CDC guidelines for enhanced cleaning practices and physical distancing.

Safe Participation Standards

Artspace requires staff and program participants to meet the following health screening criteria to participate in programming.

If staff, instructors, interns, volunteers, or students are experiencing illness or COVID-19 symptoms, they will kindly be asked to leave the building. Students showing signs of illness or COVID-19 will need to be picked up immediately along with any siblings who are also attending programming.

Artspace will communicate with families if a staff member, instructor, intern, volunteer, or student within their child’s group has been diagnosed with COVID-19.

Photography Release

Our communications team takes photos and videos during Summer Art Camps for use on social media and promotional materials. We understand that not all parents/guardians are comfortable with their child being photographed.

If you DO NOT want us to photograph or take videos of your child you may opt out by sending an email to our Communications Coordinator, Hannah Costner: Your email should include your child’s name and class.

Artspace has mandated that all virtual classes be recorded. This is both to help our instructors make improvements to future classes, and to provide students who are unable to attend classes with a record of the class they missed.

Artspace will provide materials for all in person classes unless otherwise indicated in the class description. For virtual classes families will be provided with a supply list from the instructor and are responsible for purchasing or gathering materials from home for the class. If you have any questions about supplies / substitutions please contact Taylor McGee, Education Coordinator:

Summer Celebration + Youth Art Exhibition

Artspace will host a special exhibition showcasing the work of all the young artists who participated in our Summer Art Camps. Students can chose to temporarily leave one piece of artwork to be included in the exhibition.

Reception: Saturday, August 21, 12:30-3pm

Celebrate this exhibition of amazing youth artwork with us at the end of the summer! Invite your family and friends for treats, music, art and community!

Artwork should be picked up at the close of this reception. Artspace will store artwork left behind ONLY until September 21, 2021. After, September 21, work becomes the property of Artspace.

Bonus! There are cool t-shirts!

We’re selling Summer Art Camp Shirts again this year! Proceeds benefit our scholarship program, which provides full tuition coverage for full day, week-long camp sessions to area youth.

This year’s design was created by past Summer Art Camp participant Scarlett Hartness!

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Taylor McGee, Education Coordinator: Taylor will respond as soon as possible, however, please allow up to three business days for a response as we anticipate increased email communications.
