Studio Days FAQs
How early can I drop off my child in the morning?
Doors will open at 8:30am for student drop off.
Where do I park during drop-off and pick-up?
The loading zone in front of our building is designated for student drop-off and pick-up during the Studio Days. Parents/guardians are required to bring their child into the Artspace lobby and check their child in. Curbside drop-off in front of the building or across the street is not allowed.
There is also 2-hour free street parking available on Davie Street and 2-hour free parking in the City Center Deck and Blount Street Deck.
Please be courteous when using the loading zone and move your car as soon as you have dropped off or picked up your child.
Are supplies provided for the workshops that I sign up for?
All art materials will be provided for Studio Days by Artspace.
Which age groups does your program serve?
Studio Days is designed for grades 1-5. There will be two designated groups with Grades 1-3 taking place in the Learning Studio on the first floor and Grades 3-5 located in The People’s Studio on the second floor.
What if my student falls in between two grade categories?
If your student falls in between two grade categories, they can be registered for workshops in either grade category. For example, a current 3rd grader may be registered for workshops in grade levels 1st-3rd or 3rd-5th. Any registrations made for students who are not in the correct grade category will be canceled. (i.e. a 1st grader who was registered into our 3rd-5th camp will be canceled.)
Does Artspace provide lunch?
No, Artspace will not provide lunch for students enrolled in our Studio Days program. Parents should plan to pack a lunch for their child, along with 3-4 snacks and bottled water.
How should my child dress for Studio Days?
Make sure your child is dressed in clothing that one wouldn’t mind getting messy in.
Will my child be outside during the workshop?
Artspace is located at the epicenter of an educational, cultural and entertainment hub with multiple options within walking distance. Instructors may choose to make use of these resources as part of their curriculum. With sufficient time and communication, instructors will inform and obtain permission from parents if they choose to venture outside Artspace. For specific questions regarding this, please contact Danny Peña at dpena@artspace.org.
