MARION TISDALE – My name is Marion Tisdale IV, and I make art for the forgotten. I’ve lived in Raleigh for almost twenty years and have been since I could hold a pencil. On my career I’ve had the pleasure of studying at Morehouse College where I received my BA is art, while interning at 311 Gallery. Afterwards I cut my teeth exhibiting around the triangle and completed a residency at Lump Gallery. At the moment my work explores gentrification, queer identity and body horror. I’m inspired by ideas surrounding respectability and queerness as monstrosity.
