SHARRON PARKER is a studio artist from Durham, North Carolina. She became a feltmaker in 1980, after seeing, 2,500-year-old felts from an archaeological dig in Siberia. Since then she has developed her own approach to the medium, creating, wall pieces with an emphasis on color and surface texture. She has exhibited throughout the U.S., and exhibited internationally in Armenia and Turkmenistan, through the Art in Embassies Program.
She has taught workshops throughout the eastern U.S., including a class at Arrowmont School of Arts & Crafts in 2007 and 2009 and at the 2011 International Surface Design Association Conference.
