Born in Lima, Peru, CONSTANCE PAPPALARDO came to the US in 1964 as a child. In her teens she studied at the Art Students League and at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan.

She moved to the Raleigh area in 1986. She is a member of Artspace, the Visual Art Exchange, and the Durham Art Guild.

She is best known for her richly pigmented watercolor on canvas paintings.

Pappalardo is the recipient of numerous art awards. Her works are included in corporate and private collections in the United States, Europe, and her native Peru.

Oh her work, she states:

“As a painter, I seek to heal with color. My work asks the viewer to take a breath with the vibration of color, the calm and warmth only the right pigment can offer. In my work, the real subject is always color and through color I can leave a positive and healing footprint in our society, one that may unite rather than divide.”
