NUHA MORETZ is a Yemeni-American contemporary visual artist whose work explores abstract horizons, nature, memory, and stillness. Working between Utah and North Carolina, she creates minimalist, horizon inspired paintings as visual sanctuaries for reflection, connection, and a sense of possibility.

Influenced by her early years in Tokyo, Japan, and minimalist Japanese aesthetics, Moretz explores simplicity, balance, light, color, texture, and negative space. Her Horizon Series considers the horizon as both landscape and metaphor—a space between land and sky, presence and memory, and where we are and where we might go. Her Colorful Horizons series expands this exploration through expressive color, energy, and light.

Moretz holds an M.A. in International Studies as a Fulbright Scholar and has worked internationally across Asia, and the Middle East. Her global experiences continue to shape her sense of place and perspective as an artist.

Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally and is held in private collections.
