TARA MIRKAR is an encaustic artist and life long creative residing in Raleigh, North Carolina. Encaustic is also referred to as “painting with fire” in which pure beeswax, damar resin and earth pigments are combined and then heated with a torch to obtain luminous botanicals and landscapes. Mirkar has a degree in Visual Arts from Eckerd College and served as an Art Director for summer camps. She is a mom to three awesome young adults, an orchid grower/gardener, and a practicing psychotherapist. Mirkar incorporates art therapy to help clients heal from trauma.
