JEANNE MAY is a self taught, award winning, contemporary figurative realism oil painter based in Stella, North Carolina. Her work is a result of personal experience, exploring the complexities of emotion and the urgency of current events. Jeanne is a prolific painter and an active member of her local arts councils, showing work at Carolina Artist Gallery in Morehead City, Bank of the Arts Gallery in New Bern and the Wilmington Art Association. She exhibits in many national juried shows around the country, including, most recently, the 48th Annual Open Exhibition at The Salmagundi Club in New York City. Her work has appeared in American Art Collector magazine, Artist Talk magazine and numerous exhibition catalogs with 33PA.
