ANA CAROLINA HURANT is a South American mixed-media artist based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Her practice combines cyanotype, encaustic, photography, botanical drawing, and found imagery to explore memory, preservation, natural history, and the emotional significance of objects.

Trained in Botanical Illustration, she approaches plants and natural forms through close observation while also using them as symbols of fragility, resilience, and transformation. Her layered works frequently incorporate photographic fragments, organic imagery, wax, and traces of the human body.

Ana Carolina has exhibited several works at various galleries in the triangle including The ArtsCenter, Carrboro, Durham Art Guild, Hillsborough Arts Council & Fusion Gallery, Durham. She has offered Artist Talks and teaches classes in encaustics and cyanotype in Chapel Hill & Durham.
