LYNNE HUDSON is a mixed media artist whose practice centers on hand papermaking, photography, book arts, and fiber. Rooted in her upbringing in rural eastern North Carolina, her work is shaped by memory, place, grief, and the generational loss of place memory. She has exhibited internationally in Denmark and China, and nationally across both coasts, including Asheville, NC, Tennessee, and California.
Following completion of her MFA at Western Carolina University, she worked as a studio assistant at Penland School of Craft. Hudson returns to Raleigh with a commitment to building community connections in the field.
Hudson’s work holds a tension between ‘ways of seeing’ and ‘ways of being.’ She embeds photography and two-dimensional mark-making into tactile, textural forms — handmade paper, artist books, pulp-painted surfaces — creating objects that speak of beauty, impermanence, and loss.
