BIG INK at Artspace
BIG INK returns to host a weekend of large-scale woodblock printing at Artspace on April 8 + 9, 11am-4pm!
The Big Tuna, a portable print press whose size inspired its name, will reel off these giant prints, carved by local artists. Artists have been working since February on their woodblocks using traditional Japanese chisels and guided by online instruction from BIG INK Director Lyell Castonguay .
The April 8 printing day is open for public viewing! Come witness this monumental printing press in action and see up close how woodblock prints are made. Admission is free. If you wish to come April 9, please contact Creative Director, Annah Lee at alee@artspacenc.org to arrange your visit.
