STEEVIE JANE PARKS is an Abstract Visual Artist who has been painting ever since she was a young child. She studied Art at Sarah Lawrence College, Syracuse University and The Arts Students League of New York, mainly during the 1970’s. Steevie stopped painting for thirty years in 1978 to pursue a career as a Clinical Psychologist and did not start painting seriously again until she was 52 years old. She enjoys painting large abstracts in oils, acrylics and mixed media. She has been influenced by the work of Sonya Delaunay, Henri Matisse and Marc Chagall. Steevie has her own unique style of painting where she superimposes geometric backgrounds on top of abstract humans, plants, and various living creatures, such as fish, birds, snakes and insects.
