CAPRICE MCNEILL is a Raleigh-based artist whose work is known for exploring subjects across multiple mediums. Mark making, décollage, and loose brush strokes are signatures of her work that allow her to capture the essence of form by combining graphic elements with gestural lines. The connecting thread through her work is an ongoing contemplation of life’s cycles – not simply its beginning and ending, but all the moments of living in between. Inspired by nature and the immense amount of beauty in the world, flowers and butterflies are her oft chosen subjects to express feelings she experiences during the “living moments” – whether her daughter’s wedding, a baptism, or spouse’s retirement.
McNeill feels closest to God when she creates. For her, there is no craft without spirituality. It influences all aspects of her creative process.
