“Through fabric and thread, each quilt becomes a record of the maker’s connection to a particular place and moment in time. Stitch by stitch, the hand of the maker reveals the beauty of personal experience, capturing memories, and impressions within everyday life.
In Of Place, every artist is local to the Triangle, and together their works form a collection of intimate textile narratives grounded in North Carolina. The pieces span a wide range of quilting approaches from appliqué to piecing, and embrace styles including art quilting, traditional patterns, improvisation, and minimalism. Woven together, they offer a textured exploration of how place shapes the creative impulse.”
