Growing up on Cape Cod, JENY BRILL was surrounded by artists who took her under their wing and encouraged her. The nature that surrounded her on the Cape made for a life long interest in color and light. As an adult, Jeny found a way to use her art to help children learn by becoming a Montessori teacher. She used art throughout the academic curriculum as a tool for children to express their knowledge.
Jeny’s current work, as a full-time artist, is a unique assortment of women whose voices bare listening to. The composition, texture and colors of each environment is intended to not only define the woman but welcome the viewer into their space. A mermaid tale represents the Goddess within all women. The boxes that contain each environment define the limitation of each women’s influence.
