MARY ANN ANDERSON has exhibited widely in the Triangle at venues including: Artspace, Visual Art Exchange and Meredith College in Raleigh; Duke University, Durham Art Guild, and Golden Belt in Durham; the Ackland Museum Store in Chapel Hill and The Carrboro Arts Center. Her art studies have included classes at Ox-Bow, a program of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and classes at Penland School of Craft in NC. She exhibited extensively at community galleries in Illinois for 20 years, before moving to Chapel Hill in 2008.

Her work on paper is influenced by Asian art and philosophy in addition to contemporary abstract and conceptual movements. Her most recent work is entitled Memento Mori – a series of more than 100 mixed media pieces on 8.5  x 11”  black paper. The series is a reflection on the pandemic and the ephemeral nature of all living things.
