BUILD
A POP PAINTING rising 6th - 8th grade
In this session we will be making paintings without paint...well,
maybe a little paint! By assembling various objects, we will "build
out" our paintings. Have you ever imagined that a pile of clothespins
could be arranged to resemble a tree? Or that the pages ripped from
a comic book could become a foundation for a colorful wall-hanging?
Or what if we just take the paint brush itself and make a piece of
art with it! From trash to treasure, conceptual pieces of art have
just one requirement -- an imagination! Designing, assembling, and
thinking outside-of-the-box will come in handy as well. So go and
raid the old toy chest for small objects or collect some old CD's
and let's start building a painting.
