Artspace Summer Internship

Entering its 23nd successful year, the Artspace Summer Arts Program offers eight sessions of week-long classes.  Classes are project oriented and taught by professional artists working in many different fields.  The program encourages the highest quality of work from both teachers and students and fosters the discovery of exciting and new learning techniques for its students.

Internship begins Tuesday, June 6th.  No work the week of July 2nd - 6th. (Intern is required to work through August 13)

This Internship is designed to help Visual Art, Art Education Majors or Art Administration Majors or MFA candidates develop skills in Education Programming and Management.

The intern will be responsible for:

  • supervising check in and out of students
  • scheduling/overseeing volunteers
  • gathering supplies for classes each week
  • purchasing supplies
  • acting as the liaison between staff and teachers
  • ongoing evaluation of classes
  • teaching After Hours program (arts and crafts activities for youths that need to stay until 5:30pm)
  • coordinating and installing the youth exhibition on Monday, August 13

The applicant must be able to manage many different projects simultaneously and have excellent communication skills.

Interns are expected to work Monday through Friday from 11:30-5:30.  This internship pays $1200.  Arrangements for school credit are encouraged.
