Victoria Turner Powers graduated from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill with a BA in Art Education and a major in Painting. She has exhibited professionally since 1988 and has won awards at the local, regional and national level. She has worked in various media including acrylic painting, watercolor painting, drawing, recycle arts, weaving, felting and handcast papermaking, black and white photography, and sculpture. In 2007, Victoria returned to her painting “roots” and added oil painting to her repertoire. In 2009, Victoria won the North Carolina Art Educator’s Association’s Elementary Art Teacher of the Year Award for the state. She currently works and teaches classes in her private art studio in downtown Raleigh’s historic City Market district.
