Sumner Smith makes contemporary botanical jewelry at her family farm in Asheville, NC. She’s a full-time artist, but she’s followed a slightly different path than most, having worked as a corporate attorney, started a family, launched a cut flower business on the family farm, and explored most of the mountain bike trails in Western North Carolina.
As you might have guessed, she likes to stay occupied. She also likes figuring out how to make beautiful things. She has enjoyed most every aspect of flowers and botanicals, from growing them herself to arranging flowers for local weddings, and now preserving their beauty in her jewelry. You can check out a behind the scenes look at her farm and studio on her blog.
