Mary Ann Anderson exhibited extensively at community galleries in Illinois for 20 years before moving to Chapel Hill in 2008. She presented solo exhibits at Artspace, The ArtsCenter of Carrboro and Durham Art Guild in 2011. In 2013 her installation, A Process of Engagement was shown in The Cube at Visual Art Exchange in Raleigh. She will be included in the Artspace Three Person Exhibit in December 2013. Her art studies include classes at Ox-Bow, a program of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago; and Penland School of Craft. Her work is influenced by Asian art and philosophy, in addition to contemporary abstract and conceptual movements.
