Lisa Stroud has an extensive background in writing that heavily influences her mixed media paintings. She is always looking for “the story” – whether it is hers or someone else’s. Stories she tells in paint on canvas.
Most recently, her painting Honor, By Any Measure was selected to hang in the permanent collection at the National Museum of the Marine Corps. She was proclaimed Best in Show in the 54th National Juried Art Show at the Maria V. Howard Arts Center in Rocky Mount, N.C., and the winning piece remains in its permanent collection. Her work has hung in both local and national exhibitions and she was a finalist in the 2010 Artist’s Magazine annual competition. She was honored when her work was selected for the 2011 Three-Person Biennial at Artspace.
