Leslie Pruneau grew up in Raleigh, NC and received her BFA from East Carolina University. Growing up, she traveled extensively, and as an adult, has lived in New York City and Berlin, Germany, before moving back to Raleigh. She is most known for her large scale paintings, as well as plexiglass and mixed-media constructions. The processes can be very varied from piece to piece, but the concepts remain interrelated. Her work is a direct reflection of our fluctuating, media-saturated societies today. Currently, she maintains a studio at her home in Raleigh, teaches classes and workshops, offers critiques both publically and privately, acts as a juror for art competitions, and lectures, by invitation, at universities and various other venues. As a co-founder of “A Pop of Orange Paint” (APOP), she also curates art shows in our area. With over 30 years of experience, her work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally, with many pieces in public and private collections.
