Elena Bondar is a Raleigh-based textile artist. She creates wearable art in harmony with nature through a unique fusion of fiber techniques including hand-felting, spinning, dyeing and weaving. Vivid textures are achieved through embroidery and the Japanese art of Shibori, to form pleats and patterns in fiber. Deeply rooted in the philosophy of harmony with nature, Elena’s artwear line, TrendeFemme, is a synergy of ethically sourced natural, vintage, and recycled fibers including wool, cotton and silk.
Elena’s work has been featured in:
1,000 Artisan Textiles: Contemporary Fiber Art, Quilts, and Wearables; Belle Armoire; Altered Couture; and Haute Handbags.
