Angela Zappala earned her degree in studio art from Hunter College in NYC. She continued her studies in portraiture privately at the New York Art Student’s League and pursued sculpture and drawing at the Florence Academy of Art in Italy. She accepts portrait commissions and whenever possible, prefers to work directly from the subject.
She currently works in oils and silverpoint and as a freelance illustrator, working in a wide variety of media.
Angela is a Teaching Artist with the North Carolina Museum of Art, leading classes both at the museum and in Wake County Public Schools with the PNC Grow Up Great with the Arts program.
