Mixed Media: It’s a Jungle Out There! (NEW CLASS!)
Grades K-2nd

Instructor: Sonya Drum

Explore the jungle through art making. Students will bring their jungles to life through painting, collage, and sculpture techniques. The artist Henri Rousseau will serve as inspiration for this creative journey.

Awesome Paper Power (NEW CLASS!) 
Grades 3rd-5th

Instructor: Thea Howell

Surprise! It’s paper! Make boats, planes, and even moving pictures with paper. Think again about this flat white sheet…. it holds lots of power and with a variety of art materials, you’ll discover new uses for it and produce amazing works of art. Smear, splatter, and build with it. Group experiments and projects will surprise you, and individual art projects encourage lots of self-expression with a variety of cool paper and art materials. It’s a power-packed paper party!

Mixed Media: 3-D Selfie 
Rising 6th-8th grade
Instructor: Michelle Yellin

Take your selfie to a whole new level. You are so much more than just a pretty or handsome face! But who are you under the surface…Create a self-portrait in collage, mixed media and assemblage.

Abstract Painting 
Rising 7th-10th grade
Instructor: Rebecca Rousseau

Explore the many ways abstract painters create dynamic paintings. In this class students will use acrylic paints to spray, stamp, splatter, scribble, and scrape paint. Color, composition, and different styles of abstraction will be looked at in this fun, exploratory class. Everyone will take home a poster size abstract painting.

Mixed Media: Looks Good Enough to Eat 
Grades 3rd-5th

Instructor: Sonya Drum

Explore the realm of food inspired art. Students will create 2-D and 3-D food paintings and sculptures inspired by artists Claes Oldenburg and Wayne Thiebaud. As a culminating activity students will create a real food sculpture in the spirit of Japanese bento box art.

Clay Creations 
Grades 6th-8th
Instructor: Gabriella Corter

Design and create wonderful hand-built pottery using various techniques such as slab construction, coil pots, pinch pots, and clay impression. Students will experiment with colorful underglazes for decoration. Make an animal vase, a whacky mask, an imaginative plate and more!

Sculpture: Recycle/Upcycle (NEW CLASS!)    
Grades 7th-10th
Instructor: Hunter Rion

Create new sculptures from old treasures. Don’t toss it – transform it! In this class you will use found objects to make one-of-a-kind sculptures that will forever change how you look at that recycling bin.
