Painting Realistic Skintones
Instructor: Stephen Cefalo
Friday-Sunday, May 27-29; 10am-5pm
Class Fee: $300 members/$375 non-members

Human skin reflects and refracts light unlike anything else in nature.  The key to painting great skin tones is a matter of capturing light effects through color relationships, as well as noticing the nuances of color not noticeable to an untrained eye. To eliminate the distraction presented by the challenges of painting faces and hands, we will produce a number of color studies that focus strictly on the torsos of models varying in color, age and body type. Image: Lion Lamb, detail
