Learn all about loom weaving and weave your own reptile! Students will build a working loom, learn how to set it up, and weave with colorful yarns + fibers.

Explore the many fascinating forms of these strange desert plants. Students will use a variety of mediums to create prickly projects.

Squawk, flap, and peck your way into the wacky world of birds. Students will create a funky bird sculpture embellished and constructed with mixed media materials and so much more!
Central + South American Art *

Students will discover the colorful cultures of Central and South America as they create their own original pieces. Projects include Huichol yarn paintings, Oaxacan metal reliefs, Amate bark painting, Guatemalan worry dolls, and Andean weaving.

Paper, fabric and found objects have been used by famous artists in the medium of collage and assemblage for hundreds of years. Students will learn about artworks from the past while crafting their own masterpieces from a wide array of materials.

Expressive Faces *

From Surrealism to Pop Art, artists have been fascinated by the human face. Students will learn how to draw the face and see how facial features, expression, color, and style can change the feeling of a piece of art.

Quest for Camelot *

The search for knights for King Arthur’s table begins! Come explore the myths of Camelot while making paper mache shields, castles with doors that open and close, and so much more! The week will end with a feast complete with a knighting ceremony.
Kaleidoscope Collages *

Create your own kaleidoscopic collages inspired by the Brazilian artist Beatriz Milhaze, well known for her colorful prints, paintings, and installations. Students will learn about organic and geometric shapes, composition, and color theory to create one of a kind designs.

Who says science and art can’t go hand in hand? Kinetic forces are the foundation of this class. Students will create their own mobiles that will focus on balance and movement.

East Asian Art

Create original artwork inspired by the multiple art and cultural traditions of East Asian countries. Students will create watercolor dragons, paper fish prints, silk paintings, batik fabrics and more!
Masks Around the World

Create a series of painted masks inspired by various world cultures and utilizing various techniques. Each mask will have a different expression bursting with personality.

Under the Sea *

Find out what’s hiding under the sea and on the beach! Students will create their own imaginary sea creatures and learn about real creatures that call this habitat their home. Students will create texture prints, monoprints, etchings, and more. Prints will be used to create students’ very own handmade books!

Students will turn an old book into their very own art journal, learning lots of different approaches towards drawing, doodling, designing, and collage as they create daily masterpieces.

Painting without a Brush *
