2017 Registration Form

Members can register beginning February 1; others may register beginning March 1.

Register early, as classes can fill quickly. To register online click on *REGISTER* listed with each class description. Detailed step-by-step instructions on the online registration process can be found at here.

In addition to online registration, you may also sign up for classes by mailing or faxing a Registration Form. You may also register by phone with Mastercard, Visa, or Discover. Registration will not be confirmed until payment is received.

Youth Scholarships

We offer up to 50 full (full-day) need-based scholarships to students each summer through recommendations from local art teachers. If you think your child may qualify for a scholarship, learn more here, and have his or her art teacher contact Angela Lombardi at alombardi@artspacenc.org or 919.821.2787 to inquire about the process.

If you do not need a scholarship, please consider donating to our Scholarship Fund. Every cent of your tax-deductible contribution will directly cover this opportunity for talented youths who would otherwise not be able to attend.

Mark Your Calendars!

Although you will receive an email confirmation, please be sure to mark the dates and the name of the class on your calendar. We will call at least eight business days prior to the start date of each class if it must be cancelled due to low enrollment.

Cancellations & Refunds

If Artspace cancels a class:
Artspace reserves the right to cancel a class at least eight business days prior to the start date if minimum enrollment is not met. If we cancel a class, you will receive a full refund.

If you cancel enrollment:

  • 30 or more days prior to the start date, you will receive a full refund of tuition and material fees.
  • At least 15 calendar days prior to the start date, you will receive a 50% refund of tuition and material fees.
  • No refunds will be given for cancellations less than 15 calendar days before the start date of any class.

Location & Parking

All classes take place at Artspace, located at 201 East Davie Street in downtown Raleigh’s City Market area, at the corner of Blount & Davie streets. We offer easy drop off right outside the main entrance, but please be sure to accompany and sign in your child each morning. Free parking on Davie Street may also be available. There is ample paid parking in the City Market parking lot at the corner of Martin & Persons Streets.

Youth Week-Long Daily Schedule

Each class is one week long, 3 hours per day, 15 hours of total class time.

Artspace is fully accessible to persons with disabilities. Needs will be accommodated upon request.

Drop Off – Youths

We require that you bring your child into the Artspace Lobby daily before each class to sign him or her in. Please see the Youth Schedule (above) for drop off times. Please DO NOT drop your child off at the curb or across the street. We will not be responsible for your child’s safety under such circumstances. If your child is a rising 6th grader or older, you may come in on the first day and sign a waiver allowing him or her to sign in (and/or out) without you for the remainder of the week.

Pick Up – Youths

We expect you to pick up your child promptly in the main Lobby. You will be required to show an ID. You will sign your child out with the instructor in the classroom. Please see the Youth Schedule (above) for pick up times. There is a $5 late fee charge for each 5 minutes after the designated pick up time. Repeated instances of late pick up will result in dismissal from the program with no refund. If your child must stay past 4pm, please enroll in the After Hours Program (more info below).

After Hours

This is a relaxed and fun time from 4:00 – 5:30pm daily that includes art activities, games, and more. An additional fee of $25 per student for the week applies ($20 members). After Hours students will be signed out with the After Hours instructor.

Lunch

Staying all day but don’t want to pack a lunch? Select from the nutritious options, provided by our lunch vendor. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available. Lunch is $5.50/day or $27/week.

What to Bring & Wear

If you are taking only one class: bring a snack each day.

If you are a FULL DAY student: bring 2 snacks and a lunch each day OR order a lunch from our lunch vendor.

Don’t forget to bring a water bottle! In consideration of our students with peanut allergies, we ask that you NOT bring snacks or lunches with peanuts or peanut products.

Everyone should wear comfortable shoes and dress for mess!

Exhibition dates: August 16–19, 2017
RECEPTION* for families and friends: August 19, 12:30–3:00pm

Summer Celebration: Saturday, August 19, 12:30 – 3:00 pm
Join Artspace as we host a special exhibition showcasing the work of all of our young artists. Work will be on display starting Wednesday August 16th and will be celebrated with a special closing reception on Saturday August 19th. Dress up, bring your family for treats, music, art and community!

Students should plan to leave one piece of artwork to be included in the exhibition. Artwork should be picked up at the close of this reception. Artspace will store artwork left behind ONLY until September 20, 2017. After September 20, work becomes the property of Artspace.
