Frequently Asked Questions

I was registered for an in-person camp – What do I need to do now?

Nothing right now! You will be notified via email if a class you registered for is canceled or has been rescheduled from the original date (due to a variety of factors, not all previously offered classes will be available virtually).

If the camp you registered for is available virtually and you wish to remain registered, you do not need to do anything. Your registration has already been converted to the new camp. You can:

  • Request that the difference in price be converted to a tax deductible donation to Artspace (tax receipts will be mailed). Your donation will help fund our youth arts programming including scholarships, supplies, instructor fees, and more.
  • Request a refund of the difference.

If you want to cancel or change your registration you can:

  • Request your full registration amount be converted to a tax deductible donation to Artspace (tax receipts will be mailed).
  • Request part of your fee be converted to a donation and the rest refunded.
  • Request your registration be converted to a credit to use at a future date or towards a different class.
  • Request a full refund.

What about supplies?

Artspace will provide pre-packaged supply kits for most classes for an additional small fee (Supply kits range between $15 – $45 depending on the materials needed for the class.). Kits can be purchased online and picked up at Artspace or delivered (additional delivery fees may apply). We will also provide supply lists if parents/guardians wish to purchase supplies elsewhere. 

Supply Lists

Supply lists share recommendations from the instructor, you do not need to purchase these exact brands. We have supplied these links to make purchasing easier, however you can substitute with different brands or use similar materials you have at home. Artspace Supply Kits

Artspace Supply Kits provide students with all the materials they will need for their Virtual Summer Art Camp! Some materials in your kits will even last beyond the class for additional summer fun and creativity!

All supply kits are sold as is. Artspace cannot make substitutions or modifications to the materials contained in the kit. Supply kits range between $15 – $45 depending on the materials needed for the class. Downloadable supply lists are available for each class if you wish to purchase supplies separately.

Supply kits must be ordered no later than 5pm the Thursday BEFORE your camp begins. 

Availability

Artspace Supply Kits for each class will be available for pickup or delivery one week prior to the start date of a class. 

Pickup

Supply kits can be picked up Monday – Friday, 10am – 2pm, the week before a class starts.

Pickup Details

Our building is currently closed to the public, but a staff member wearing a face mask and gloves will be onsite to facilitate supply kit pickups. Please ring the doorbell upon arrival to be let into the building. Supply kits will be available in our lobby area, labeled with the students name and class name for easy pickup.  

We ask anyone entering our building to please wear a face mask.  

Free street parking, with a strict two-hour limit during the daytime, is available on Davie Street.

Delivery

Local delivery within a 10 mile radius of Artspace is available for a flat fee of $10.00. 

Deliveries will take place on Mondays and Fridays. 

Refunds

Artspace supply kits are non-refundable. If a class is cancelled due to low registration and you have purchased a supply kit we would be happy to provide you with project ideas for using your new art materials!

What else?

  • As with in-person classes, Artspace reserves the right to cancel a class if it does not meet the minimum number of registrants. Artspace will notify registrants 10 days prior to class start if a class is canceled.
  • Accessibility accommodations may be available – contact Brett Morris, bmorris@artspacenc.org, if you need accommodations.
  • Our Summer Celebration and Youth Art Exhibition will be going virtual as well! Stay tuned for communications about how to participate in the online exhibition.
  • Scholarships are still available! We are committed to ensuring everyone has access to quality arts education. If you or someone you know is interested in a scholarship for our virtual classes, please contact Taylor McGee, tmcgee@artspacenc.org for more information.
  • If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Education and Outreach Manager Brittany Carlson at bcarlson@artspacenc.org. Brittany will respond as soon as possible, however, please allow up to three business days for a response as we anticipate increased communications due to these changes. Please note, we have limited staff in the building at this time, so email is preferred to phone calls.
