Summer Art Camps

Artspace Summer Art Camps are going virtual!

Virtual Summer Art Camps for Grades K – 12 / June 15 – August 7, 2020

Morning Classes: 10 – 11a
Afternoon Classes: 1 – 2p

Join us for Artspace’s 31st year of summer camps! Students in rising grades K–12, will learn tricks, tips and techniques from professional artists in fun and creative online week-long classes.

After carefully reviewing the guidelines for reopening from several different sources including the CDC, the state of North Carolina, and the North Carolina cultural arts sector, we have made the decision to suspend our in-person classes this summer and transition our summer art camps to online classes. The safety of our guests is our greatest concern and due to limitations of our staff and building we are not able to meet all the necessary guidelines at this time.

Don’t worry! Many of our previously offered classes are now available in the new format and we have added new classes, as this new format allows us to offer more of the classes you love! If you registered for an in-person camp, please see our FAQ page and we will be contacting you through email about your registration if your class has been rescheduled or cancelled.

We have supplied these links to make purchasing easier, however you can substitute with different brands or use similar materials you have at home. If you have questions about supplies / substitutions please contact Taylor McGee at tmcgee@artspacenc.org.

Summer Celebration + Youth Art Exhibition

Though we are unable to meet in person for the Summer Celebration this year, it is important to us to celebrate and showcase the work of all the young artists who participated in our virtual summer art camps. We invite each student to submit one image of an artwork they created for each class that they participated in this summer.

Images should be sent to summerartcamp@artspacenc.org
Please include the following information with your image(s).
Student Name
Class Name
Artwork Title
All submitted student artwork will be presented in a virtual exhibition that can be shared with friends and family near and far!

Bonus! There are Cool T-shirts!

To help support the transition to virtual, we are selling Summer Art Camp Shirts! Proceeds from the sale of shirts will help cover the technology costs associated with hosting online classes. Plus, they look pretty cool.
