Pop In Residency

This call is currently closed. Check back in 2020 for the next call for Pop in Artist in Residence!

The Pop In residency program at Artspace provides an artist with a month-long studio opportunity to work on a project of their choice and to interact with the public and the artist community. It is also an opportunity for the artist to exhibit the work they create immediately following the residency. During the residency period, the artist must engage with the Raleigh community through a collaborative project. Teaching opportunities are also available.

Martha Clippinger, 2016 PNC Pop In Artist in Residence, installs the artwork she created during her residency at Artspace.

Participating artists benefit from opportunities for professional development and collaboration with peers. Residents actively contribute to Artspace’s artistic and educational programming by participating in First Friday, being available for studio visits and tours, and working in their studios during Artspace’s business hours. Residents are also required to give a presentation, artist talk and/or demonstration to the public to coincide with their residency or exhibition.

Artspace strives to be fully accessible to artists with disabilities. Artpsace’s facilities are fully accessible and we encourage all artists to consider submitting for our residency opportunities. If you have any questions or concerns about the program’s accessibility please contact Annah Lee at 919.821.2787 or alee@artspacenc.org.
