Artspace Studio Opportunity

Artspace’s studio opportunity is ideal for artists who are committed to their practice, to experimentation and innovation in their work, to seeking artistic + professional development, and to being a part of and contributing to a dynamic community of artists and creative thinkers.

Artspace houses 30 partially subsidized studios appropriate for visual artists. Studios range from 193 to 620 square feet. Studio rent is currently charged at $15 per square foot on an annual basis. Monthly rents range from $250-700 on average.

We currently have two shared and one single studio available for rent beginning July 1, 2021:
First floor shared space:

Second floor single space:

Rent: $660.00/month

  1. 193 to 620 sq. ft. studios.
  2. 24-hour access to the building.
  3. Wi-Fi access.
  4. Elevator access to the second floor.
  5. Up to 35 Artspace artists working on-site including short-term residency artists.
  6. Participation in First Friday Gallery walks.
  7. Most studios are open air. Spraying of toxic or hazardous materials is prohibited.
  8. Rent is inclusive of all utilities and includes access to a work sink.
  9. Access to exhibition, teaching, and professional development opportunities, and more.


  1. Professional, dedicated, working artists with a deep commitment to their practice.
  2. Artists must be over 18 years of age.
  3. Artspace strives to host artists working in a wide array of media.
  4. Previous studio artists are eligible to apply, however, priority will be given to qualifying artists who have never had a studio at Artspace.
  5. Artists must be ready to work in an open studio setting with public hours.


  1. Demonstrated commitment to a professional artistic practice.
  2. Readiness to engage with and benefit from the Artspace Studio Program.
  3. Potential to further develop an innovative creative practice and/or impact the community.


  1. Artspace staff reviews applications to ensure completion and eligibility.
  2. Submissions are reviewed by a committee of arts professionals and studio artists.
  3. The committee evaluates each artist’s materials and selects finalists.
  4. Finalists are invited for an in-person or phone interview with the Director of Artistic Programs to determine final selections.


  1. 5 digital images of works completed within the past two years. Images must be in JPEG format.
  2. Image list. File names should be matched to an image list. For each image, please list: title, media, dimensions (h x w) and date completed.
  3. Resume or CV.
  4. Artist statement. No more than 150 words.
  5. Studio Use Statement. A description of how you intend to use the studio space and how the opportunity will impact your career. No more than 150 words.
