Call for Artists
Second Annual CSA
Deadline to Apply: October 14th
The final selection of artwork for the 2015-2016 Artspace CSA includes work from artists (from left and top to bottom) Andie Freeman, Allison Tierney, Kenia Brea, Gab Corter, Sue Soper, Pati Reis, Caitlin Cary, and Keith Norval.
Artspace member artists will be selected to participate in our second annual CSA. The resulting 40 shares of the CSA contain one work of art from each artist. Participating artists will be paid a $1000 stipend.
How our CSA (Community Supported Art) works:
Selected artists will create a series of 40 original works of art for the program – multiples are encouraged, however creative ideas that translate your practice into this format are also welcome. For example an edition of screen-prints, a series of small tea cups, a run of photographs, or even a collection of small original paintings. Collaborations between artists or work by collectives are also welcome.
To support the production of their series of works, each of the participating artists will receive a $1,000 stipend.
Interested collectors will purchase a share (aka a “membership” or a “subscription”) and in return receive a box of locally produced artwork. The pick-up event will connect the artists with the collectors in our community.
Many other communities have engaged in programs similar to the Artspace CSA, but ours is the first of its kind in Raleigh.
Completed series of artworks by (bottom to top, from left) Alison Tierney, Kenia Brea, Andie Freeman, Gab Corter, and Keith Norval are arranged to be wrapped for presentation.
