Kennedy's paintings contain bold color with an almost harsh contrast of bright sunlight and shadow. Her subject matter is the disappearing scenes that make the East coast special such as wooden fishing piers and sand fences.

Kennedy attended East Carolina, NC State, and Lincoln Land College in Illinois. She is also one of the Founding Artspace Artists.
