Get It! Forum on Residencies and Grants is a panel discussion and Q&A session on how to effectively write, apply for, and carry out residency and grant proposals. Panelists Include:
- Jeff Pettus of the NC Arts Council
- Sarah Corrin of the Office of Raleigh Arts
- Catherine Howard, visual artist
- Anthony Ulinski, visual artist
The forum will be hosted and moderated by Artspace’s Director of Programs & Exhibitions, Shana Dumont Garr

Arrive at Artspace, Gallery Two (second floor) and meet other panelists

Panel begins: light mingling and introductions by Shana Dumont Garr
12:10 – 12:50 pm
Panelists individually present their involvement with grants and/or residencies, provide advice, best practices, and specific resources.
12:50 – 1:10pm
Questions, discussion between audience and panelists, moderated by Shana Dumont Garr
1:10 – 1:30pm
Casual reception and one-on-one discussions
Talking Points:
Each speaker will present individually for about ten minutes, and then the session will break into a question and answer session.
Sarah Corrin and Jeff Pettus are the two administrators on the panel. They will share specifics about grants they oversee, best practices in preparing to apply and in applying, and additional resources that they recommend individuals pursue.
The two artist panelists are Anthony Ulinski and Catherine Howard. They will share about the full trajectory of grants and residencies they’ve applied to, received, and then carried out.
Handouts with links to additional resources will be available, and light refreshments will be provided.
